Live updates as '200 litres of diesel' spill on Purbrook road after crashThere has been an oil spill in Waterlooville this morning.

Cosham Fire Station watch manager Daryl Bishop said: ‘We were called at 6.15am. One fire appliance and one specialist vehicle were sent by Hampshire Fire and Rescue.

‘A diesel tank was being carried by pick up truck, it fell of the back and was hit by a minibus, causing the tank to split and spilling diesel on the road. ‘There is approximately 200 litres of diesel on the highway.’ Police remain at the scene, The News have contacted them for further details about the incident.

Heavy delays in area around Ladybridge Road

AA Traffic is showing delays in both directions on nearby Stakes Hill Road and also on Purbrook Way, this morning 

Road is closed, AA Traffic are reporting

On its online traffic map, AA Traffic says: ‘Road closed and heavy traffic due to fuel spillage on Ladybridge Road both ways between A3 London Road and Penjar Avenue.’

What do we know so far?

The watch manager Cosham Fire Station told us that a diesel tank being carried by a pick-up truck fell off and was involved in a collision with a minibus, causing the tank to split.  Approximately 200 litres of diesel then spilled out onto the road. 

Police remain at the scene
