Llandeilo Round Table boost food hub with large donation

Members of Llandeilo Round Table have donated an entire truck load of food to the Llandeilo food hub. Last week, a Castell Howell van full of donations arrived at the ‘drive through’ at Llandeilo rugby club Cae Williams. Round Table chair George Rowan, president Jonathan Garrant and members Edward Rees and Ben Goll were on hand to help unload the goods and deliver them from the donation drop-off point to the food hub behind the primary school.

Volunteers Amanda Stone and Euryn Madoc-Jones said they were “overwhelmed” when the van arrived. Volunteer co-ordinator, Christoph Fischer said: “It seems the Round Table was our lucky charm. Donations had been dropping a little as Covid restrictions had been lifted.

Now people seem to have become more aware again and the number of donations has steadily increased since this fantastic boost.” Karen Towns, food hub volunteer said: “This really was a much need boost. Currently over 60 people rely on the food hub and that figure is likely to go up as the pandemic continues.

“Every small donation helps.” Llandeilo Mayor Owen James, a volunteer at the hub added: “We live in a great and generous town.

The team at the food hub are simply amazing but they couldn’t do it without such wonderful support from all parts of the community.” Llandeilo Round Table boost food hub with large donation Anyone can donate at the Rugby Club seven days a week from 2-4 pm.
