Lorry and car collision on A37 near Shepton Mallet

A CRASH involving a lorry and car has closed a road near Shepton Mallet. The incident, which took place at 6.30am this morning (November 12), involved an A.J. Champion & Sons lorry that crashed into trees at the side of the road.

An Avon and Somerset Police Spokesperson said: “We were called to the A37 at Long Hill near Shepton Mallet at around 6.30am today (Thursday 12 November) following a collision involving a lorry and a car. “No-one in either of these vehicles has suffered any serious or life-threatening injuries. “The occupant of a separate vehicle, not involved in the initial collision, has suffered what’s believed to be a medical episode and they have been taken to hospital for treatment.”

The road is still closed, but will be open shortly.
