A loaded 26 ton concrete lorry is a lethal weapon in the hands of a drunk driver

The Guardia Civil of the Region of Murcia has detained the driver of a 26-ton concrete mixer, who will be charged for alleged crimes against road safety, after overturning a loaded concrete truck when five times over the legal limit. The incident took place on the El Juncal neighborhood road, in the municipality of Pliego, when the truck, weighing 26 tons and fully loaded with concrete, veered off the road and overturned when heading from an industrial estate in Murcia to unload concrete at a site in Pliego. Upon arrival, it was immediately obvious to the traffic police that the driver had been drinking and the 50 year-old driver, a resident of Murcia, was found to be 5 times over the limit for professional drivers.

Fortunately, nobody was injured in the incident, but the driver will face criminal charges for his actions; a 26 ton loaded concrete lorry is a lethal weapon in the hands of a drunk driver.
