Long walk home for Volkeswagen pals caught not wearing seatbelts on A38

A group of friends found themselves with a long walk to get home after being pulled over by police near an East Staffordshire village. The silver Volkswagen Golf was stopped on the A38 near to Barton under Needwood by officers from the Staffordshire Police Response Unit on Saturday, January 2. All four of the people inside were found to not be wearing a seatbelt and the driver also had no licence and no insurance.

Officers seized the vehicle and all four of the people inside found themselves facing making their own way home. The unit, which is part of Staffordshire Police, shared a picture of the VW loaded up onto the back of a recovery truck just off the A38 before it was taken away by the police. A spokesman for the Staffordshire Police Response Unit said: “Officers stopped this car travelling along A38, Barton under Needwood.

“The four occupants were not wearing seatbelts.

“The driver also had no licence and no insurance.

“The car was seized which meant a long walk to work for these four! #NoInsuranceNoCar
