Police recover stolen caravan after tip-off from rural officer in another county
Leicestershire Police have recovered a stolen caravan after it was spotted in a village by an officer from a neighbouring force. Officers seized the caravan yesterday after it was seen in a location in Shawell, near Market Harborough, by a rural police officer from Northamptonshire Police. Police manually moved the caravan into position and towed it away with a using a pick-up truck.
A Northamptonshire Police officer reported that the owner was ‘over the moon’ that the police have found his caravan. PC Hutch Hitchings tweeted: “I’ve just spoken to the owner who states he wasn’t insured when it was stolen. He’s over the moon that we’ve found it.”
An officer on the Harborough and Lutterworth police team tweeted: “Cross border working! @hutch472 gives us info of a sus caravan near to Shawell. Both teams deploy. Caravan located and confirmed as stolen.
Minor logistical issues overcame with a bit of team work.”
