South Cave black ice crash live updates as police shut road

A multi-vehicle collision has completely shut a road in East Yorkshire. A Sunday morning bystander in the village has explained how the crash – reportedly involving at least three cars – has blocked Willow Flats in South Cave. It is understood Humberside Police are at the scene and the road is now shut in both directions.

One woman said: “There have been multiple accidents in South Cave this morning due to icy conditions. Willow Flats South Cave there has been a multiple car crash. Police are on site.”

Traffic system Inrix says Cave Road has been closed in both directions due to ice from Station Road in Brough to the A63 at South Cave.

Humberside Police have said they are taking “numerous reports of black ice” across the region and urged drivers to drive with caution and in accordance with the conditions.
