The Young and the Restless Spoilers Recap: Friday, January 29 – Mariah Says Yes – Elena & Devon Make Love – Kyle’s Got A Secret

The Young and the Restless spoilers recap for Friday, January 29, tease that Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) will drive to the Chancellor mansion in the ice storm to see Abby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) and Chance Chancellor (Donny Boaz). Mariah will want more information about being a gestational carrier, and she’ll have some questions about the process.

Abby will share a few moments with Mariah alone, and Mariah will share her biggest fear, which is the procedure not working. Abby will say that she’s nervous too, but that she and Chance have to try, and the two women will have a touching conversation about what motherhood would mean to Abby. Chance and Abby will refuse to let Mariah go back out into the storm, and while Abby’s getting Mariah’s room ready, Mariah will call Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks), who will be at Crimson Lights weathering out the storm.

Tessa will offer her support to Mariah if she wants to help Abby and Chance, and Mariah will seem to have a moment of clarity. When Abby and Chance come back to the room, Mariah will tell them that both she and Tessa are up for the journey, and that she’s going to do this for them. “I want to help you have a baby,” Mariah will say. Abby and Chance will be utterly thrilled.

At Devon Hamilton’s (Bryton James) penthouse, Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy) will learn that it will be a while before a tow truck can come get her car. Devon will urge Elena to level with him about her affair with Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic). Elena and Devon will proceed to have a long talk, during which Elena will say that she wasn’t the only woman in Devon’s thoughts.

Elena will say that she’s not blaming Devon, and that he didn’t drive her to sleep with Nate, but that she felt that she was competing with the love of her life and Hilary Hamilton’s (Mishael Morgan) twin. Elena will explain that during that night with Nate, she felt wanted and needed in a way that Devon hadn’t made her feel in a long time. Devon will admit to being caught up in reliving what he had with Hilary, and he’ll say that he didn’t intend to make Elena feel like he didn’t need her.

Elena will express understanding, and Devon will say that he should have realized what he had but instead he let it go. Devon and Elena will kiss and fall back on the couch together. At the Abbott mansion, Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) and Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) will visit after a nice dinner in the dining room.

As they sit by the fire, Sally and Jack will get to know each other, and Sally will share that her parents were Carnies who abandoned her and her sister. Sally will explain that her “grams” raised her and her sister, and that she followed in her great aunt Sally Spectra’s (Darlene Conely) footsteps in fashion. Jack will tell Sally about his mother abandoning him, and then Kyle Abbott’s (Michael Mealor) past will come up in conversation.

Jack will mention offhandedly that Kyle spent a few years in New York City with Theo Vanderway (Tyler Johnson) and that they had some wild days that were now behind him. Sally will find that very interesting. Jack will invite Sally to stay in one of the guest rooms at the mansion, which she’ll happily accept.

At Jabot, Summer Newman (Hunter King) and Kyle will ride out the ice storm together playing cards and other games. The topic of Sally will come up, and Kyle will wonder if Summer’s decision to hold Sally’s past over her head is the best decision. Summer will be confident that she knows what she’s doing.

Summer will mention that at least everyone already knows all the stupid stuff that they have done, and Kyle will look askew. Summer will think that there’s no way anyone could blackmail them over anything, while Kyle privately looks miserable. At Victoria Newman’s (Amelia Heinle) house, Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) and Victoria will be settled in for the evening while the kids play upstairs.

Billy and Victoria will have a long conversation over how they got to the place they’re at now. Billy will apologize for hurting Victoria so many times, and Victoria will say that she was half of their problems. Soon, the conversation will turn to relationships, and Billy will assume that someday Victoria will start dating again.

Victoria will ask about how serious Billy is with Lily Winters (Christel Khalil), and Billy won’t exactly answer but he’ll indicate that this isn’t just a passing flirtation. Ultimately, Billy will head upstairs to a guest room, and Victoria will look wistful. You won’t want to miss Friday’s episode – it’s going to be terrific!
