Firefighters attend village after report of explosion
Emergency services were called to Trusthorpe following a report of an explosion. Firefighters from Mablethorpe, Alford and Skegness attended Mill Field at about 3pm on Thursday, February 4 They isolated the gas and electricity supplies and made the scene safe.
Samantha Jarrett captured the incident on a video which shows firefighters near the Gray & Goodliffe Ltd bakery. Her footage also shows engineers from Western Power Distribution at the scene. She said: “On our journey towards Sutton-On-Sea we noticed one fire truck pulled up down the side street and another fire truck on the way down with two red cars with emergency lights following along.
“On our way back we noticed that the trucks were still there after an hour or so. “We were unsure if it was the bakery or the buildings beside it that could have caught fire. “From what I saw the emergency team did a great job managing the situation.”
Lincolnshire Fire & Rescue tweeted that crews attended Mill Field in Trusthorpe “following a report of an explosion”. The tweet continued: “Crews used small tools to isolate gas and electric supply to property and made the scene safe.” A Lincolnshire Fire & Rescue spokesperson told Lincolnshire Live: “There was a small amount of damage to a road surface.”
The spokesperson added: “The crews made the property safe until the arrival of electric and gas engineers.”
