Police, fire and ambulance services were called to the scene yesterday morning following the incident, which saw the A261 Hythe Road closed in both directions. The victims were taken to the William Harvey Hospital as a precaution, and the road reopened at around 11.50am, around three hours after it first closed at 8.50am.
The nature of any injuries has not been confirmed, but they are not believed to be serious.
The incident is the latest in an increasing list of collisions over the last few days as motorists struggle to deal with treacherous conditions caused by Storm Darcy.
Later the same day, a truck driver was cut from wreckage after a three-lorry crash on the M20 which remained closed for several hours.
