M25 lorry crash: Video shows lorry hanging off M25 barrier after huge crash that completely shut the road
A video that shows a lorry hanging off the edge of the M25 barrier following a crash yesterday has emerged on social media. The crash completely shut the anti-clockwise carriageway of the M25 near Junction 2 for the Dartford Tunnel after a lorry collided with the bridge barrier yesterday (Wednesday, April 7). The collision caused significant damage to the barrier and caused a widespread delay of around 90 minutes in and out of Essex.

The barrier needed to be replaced and the damaged lamp column also had to be removed. The video of the incident shows part of the lorry hanging off the M25 motorway bridge, and overhanging the A2 arterial road at Darenth. The footage has been shared widely across Facebook after initially being posted by passer-by Max Ellington.
Several of the lorry’s wheels can be seen hanging off the edge of the bridge, along with a portion of the trailer within the video. Find out the latest traffic news in your area by typing your postcode below: Following the incident, a spokesperson at Kent Police said: “Road closures on the A2 and M25 have now been removed following repairs that were required after a lorry collided with a roadside barrier on the A282.
“The incident was reported to us at 1.20pm on Wednesday, April 7, 2021, and resulted in part of the lorry’s trailer breaching a safety barrier.
“No serious injuries were reported, however, the A2 was closed in both directions, at the junction for the Darenth Interchange, to ensure public safety.
“The anticlockwise M25 was also closed at junction 2.”
