Tyrone man charged over video of child driving lorry on motorway bailed

A Co Tyrone man charged with motoring and cruelty offences over a video of a child driving a HGV on the M1 last year has appeared in court. he accused is in his 30s, but to protect the identity of the child who was driving and another in the cab, he cannot not be named. It has been confirmed that both youngsters are under 10. The defendant is accused of child cruelty, permitting driving without a HGV licence or insurance, three counts of aiding and abetting dangerous driving, aiding and abetting driving while disqualified, dangerous driving and having no insurance.

The cruelty charges allege the accused wilfully exposed two children to unnecessary suffering or injury to health.

A PSNI sergeant told Dungannon Magistrates Court he believed he connect the defendant to the charges.

District Judge Michael Ranaghan remanded the accused on continuing bail and listed the case for mention next month.
