Quirky food and music festival will tour Cornwall this summer

Stopping off at idyllic locations including clifftops, stunning beaches and country estates, a new touring festival is coming to the coast of Cornwall this summer. Travelling Feast was born from a love of the coastline, a passion for delicious food and a desire to share great music and good times with friends and family. The first of its kind, Cornwall’s celebrity chef Paul Ainsworth’s moving event promises to be the ultimate food-lovers road trip which “provides a unique chance to bed down under the stars in places you would never normally get the chance to experience”.

Included in the music line-up are the Kaiser Chiefs, Rudimental DJ, Sister Sledge, Tom Odell, Jake Bugg, Gabrielle, The Brand New Heavies, Gentleman’s Dub Club, The Sugarhill Gang and more. Ainsworth has also invited some of Britain’s best-known chefs and their food trucks to join him on the road trip where they will serve dishes to ensure no two days are the same. Headliners include Tom Kerridge’s Humble Pie Truck, Niall Keating’s Paradise Carriage, John Hooker’s Cornish Arms Airstream and James Martin’s Ice Cream Airstream as well as Ainsworth’s own Travelling Feast food truck. Alfresco Theatre’s Double Decker Bus will be serving dishes from award-winning chefs including Jason Atherton, Atul Kochhar and Rick Stein. Each destination will have its own unique mix of music, comedy, food and family entertainment.

There will also be a wide range of street food trucks all hand-picked by Ainsworth. Also joining the convoy for one-off appearances will be some of his chef pals including Kerridge, Martin, Angela Hartnett and Richard Corrigan. “I’ve always wanted to go to a festival where the food takes centre stage, with great music and entertainment, topped off with a series of stunning locations in one of the most beautiful places in the world – my home, Cornwall,” said Ainsworth.

“We’re all on a mission to create long-lasting, happy memories, as well as showcasing some of the region’s amazing producers and the country’s top chefs.

After the challenging year we’ve had, I think we all need some joy in our lives and hope Travelling Feast will do just that.” Visitors can purchase day tickets or road trip camping tickets for part of the journey or the whole gastronomic adventure which includes four or five nights camping or glamping at different Cornish locations. Road trip guests will also have exclusive access to additional intimate festival nights at coastal sites and four evenings of entertainment at each stage of the trip.

There will also be yoga, foraging events, boat trips, open air classic films, kids’ movie club and the opportunity to explore at your leisure, the Cornish coastline and countryside by day. The final adventure of the tour, where visitors can take in breathtaking views of Padstow by boat, includes an exclusive Paradise Carriage Brunch Cruise, with food provided by two Michelin star chef Keating. Camping tickets and day tickets are available for the larger festival locations.

Presale opens at 10am on May 27 and tickets go on general sale at 10am on May 28.
