Driver ‘pulled from lorry by others’ after vehicle overturns

A lorry driver was reportedly pulled from their vehicle by other drivers who stopped to help after it overturned. Deep Lane in Plympton is blocked this morning (June 9) after a HGV overturned, which has led to a spillage of rubble onto the road. Traffic is queuing in the area, with police and paramedics currently at the scene.

Pictures taken at the site of the crash show the lorry driver being helped out of the vehicle by other people. An eyewitness told PlymouthLive there was “amazing teamwork” to get the lorry driver out. She said: “Saw this on my way to work.

Near Plympton. People pulled over helped the driver out. “Amazing team work.

No police there at the time.” Another added: “Do not go Plympton turn off on A38, overturned Lorry next to traffic lights. Traffic building coming from Lee Mill towards Plymouth.

“Plympton turn off four police cars and ambulance gonna have to wait for recovery as lorry is turned over.”
