Construction underway on truck service centre

Construction work is underway on a new truck service centre and workshop facilities in Suffolk. MCS Group was awarded the design and build contract by Renault Trucks Commercials Ltd to support its investment in a new facility at Hodgkinson Road, Felixstowe. The Warwick-based company’s Primary Projects division will construct a new truck service centre and workshop with parts storage and ancillary areas.

The project is expected to reach practical completion before the end of the year. Andy Hall, MCS Group operations director, said: “It’s great to see work start on site and we are looking forward to delivering a very high quality new facility for one of the world’s leading truck manufacturers. “Our Primary Projects division has extensive experience in the construction of showrooms and workshops for major motor manufacturers which is why so many trust our team with their key development projects.”

Adam Boyes, UK property manager at Volvo Group UK Ltd, added: “MCS Group’s experience in the automotive sector stood out when awarding the contract, along with their commitment to the sustainability agenda which mirrors the commitment of Renault Trucks.

“The addition of solar panels, enhanced insulation, no natural gas for heating, and EV charging points will result in the most efficient and sustainable building in the Renault Trucks portfolio.”
