Driver killed in M6 truck pile-up

Police are appealing for witnesses after a driver died following a serious collision on the M6. Emergency services were called out to the M6 near to Knutsford earlier today following a collision involving three trucks. Tonight Cheshire Police has confirmed that a driver died at the scene of the incident.

The collision occurred on the southbound carriageway between Junction 20, Lymm interchange, and Junction 19 at Knutsford just before 12.40pm.

Both carriageways were shut to assist emergency services.

The northbound carriageway reopened a short time later but the southbound remains closed while emergency services work at the scene and an investigation into the collision continues.
