Driver trapped after lorry crashed into stationary truck on M25

A man was injured after being trapped in the M25 Thurrock lorry crash yesterday (Saturday 17 July). Reports of the incident came shortly before 2.30pm when a lorry crashed into a stationary lorry near Junction 30 A282 ( Lakeside / Purfleet). Emergency services rescued a 38-year-old driver, from Grays, after he became trapped in the wreckage.

Essex Police said: “We are continuing to investigate a collision involving two lorries on the M25 near Thurrock yesterday, Saturday 17 July. “We were called shortly before 2.30pm after a lorry collided with a stationary lorry near junction 30, heading towards the Dartford river crossing. “Firefighters freed one of the drivers, who had become trapped.

The 38-year-old man from Grays was taken to hospital with broken wrists and a leg injury. “The road was closed while the man was freed and for the section of road to be cleared and repair work carried out. “We appreciate it was very hot and many people were held up in traffic, and we’d like to thank everyone for their patience.
We are continuing to investigate the circumstances behind the collision.”
