Man dies after horror smash between car and articulated lorry in Aberdeenshire

A MAN has died after a horror car and lorry crash in Aberdeenshire. The 25-year-old's motor collided with an articulated truck on the A947, near Oldmeldrum, around 4.40pm today.

Emergency services raced to the scene, close to the junction with the A920, and cops locked down the road. Tragically, the car driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police Scotland have launched a probe into the tragic smash, and have urged anyone in the area at the time to get in touch.

Road Policing Sergeant Scott Deans said: "Enquiries are underway to establish the full circumstances surrounding this collision. "I would appeal to anyone who witnessed what happened to get in touch. "I would also urge any motorists with dash-cam footage of the incident, who are still to contact police, to do so through 101, quoting incident number 2425."
