Pedestrian knocked down by lorry in Wigston

A pedestrian was injured in a collision involving a lorry in Wigston town centre. Emergency services were on the scene of the crash, in Long Street, earlier this evening (July 1). An air ambulance was spotted landing in nearby Aylestone Lane Park at about 7.30pm.

The street was blocked to traffic, with diversions in place. A stationary HGV could be seen parked in the middle of the road. We reported on this incident live.
