Police photo shows how thieves ripped out van’s wiring

A van has been found dumped in a country lane 25 miles away from where it was stolen and within a couple of hours of the owner alerting police. The truck was taken from Tamar Road in Melton around on Sunday morning and was recovered, apparently abandoned, near Bagworth, in the Coalville area, at 10am. The Leicestershire Police officers, members of the force’s roads policing unit, tweeted a photograph which showed how the thieves had tampered with the wiring in the steering column in order to steal it.
