The stars spotted on Glasgow’s Indiana Jones film set so far

Filming is well underway for the Indiana Jones movie in Glasgow – with our city dramatically transformed into New York. Flags bearing stars and stripes adorn some streets, along with signs saying “Welcome to New York, Astronauts” and other references to Apollo 11 – suggesting part of the film could be set in 1969. A number of shop fronts have also been created, with traffic lights changed to the traditional yellow colour used in America.

Many onlookers lined both sides of a cordon on the street by Glasgow City Chambers, near George Square, as cameras started to roll on Wednesday. On Tuesday, rehearsals were seen taking place in a car park in Govan, near Ibrox Stadium, with a parade of vehicles – again featuring Apollo 11 references. Vintage American cars could be seen alongside floats, with a moon-like object on one and a beauty pageant on another. So who are the stars who have been spotted so far?

Mads Mikkelsen

The legendary Danish actor, who has previously starred in the likes of James Bond movie Casino Royale, The Hunt, Doctor Strange and Star Wars Rogue One has reportedly been seen on set in Glasgow, albeit barely recognisable due to plenty of make-up for his role in Indiana Jones.

Sadly, there’s been no sightings of the real Harrison Ford yet, however his body double has appeared on set, wearing a cast on his leg. Will we see the real Harrison Ford? There’s every possibility.

The 78-year-old has been in the UK for the shooting of the movie and was recently spotted during filming in Northumberland.

As soon as he’s seen in Glasgow, we’ll let you know!

While some set features started appearing a week ago, filming could take place for another few weeks with a range of road closures listed on Glasgow City Council’s website.
