Virgin Red highlights desire for new experiences to mark Covid freedom day

Thrill-seeking Britons are desperate to throw caution to the wind when many Covid restrictions are lifted to enjoy the experience of a lifetime or something special. Data from Virgin Red indicates bookings for experience-based activities have surged by 80 per cent, with theatre trips, cinema outings and concert tickets being snapped up by people eager to enjoy new-found freedoms. Just a few days after Virgin’s Sir Richard Branson founder reached new heights when he travelled to space and experienced zero gravity first hand, almost a third of people (28 per cent) polled were more likely to agree to a new adventure compared with before the pandemic.

  • Parachute jumps.

To mark Monday’s Freedon Day, Virgin Red is launching a floating ice cream van, whipping up free cones with a spectacular van 15ft above ground, elevated by red balloons. The ‘float’ will be serving up Mr Whippy all day with an extraordinary selection of red toppings, from traditional sprinkles to chilli flakes, with visitors invited to create an ice cream truly unique to them. The 99 Red Balloons truck will be giving away 99 Virgin Points prizes.
