Man killed by skip lorry in Surrey collision

A 40-year-old man has been pronounced dead after being hit by a skip lorry in Surrey. The collision was reported at about 5.45am on Thursday (August 5) in Epsom’s Reigate Road, close to the Volkswagen and Audi dealerships. The road was closed around the College Road, Fir Tree Road and Ruden Way junctions and remained shut as of 10am, as investigators worked to establish how it happened.

His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by officers.

A force spokesperson said: “Our thoughts remain with them at this difficult time.” A witness appeal has been launched with officers keen to speak to anyone who saw the incident, or the moments leading up to it.
