Roundabout just off M1 closes due to overturned lorry

A roundabout connecting the A4303 and A426 had major disruption after a lorry overturned while going around it. The roundabout, which features the Frank Whittle aeroplane monument, is just off Junction 20 of the M1, and is on the outskirts of Lutterworth. Police were called to the incident shortly after 8am this morning (Wednesday, August 25).

The lorry was pictured on its side and had shed its load – which appears to be a significant amount of gravel – across the road. Leicestershire Police closed the A426 exit junction into Lutterworth, as well as that stretch of road, while they handled the incident. There were reports of the A4303 being closed during this time, also.
