Lorry fire causes severe delays on M1
Emergency services rushed to the scene of a lorry fire on an M1 slip road near Luton earlier this morning. A lorry caught fire in the early hours of Monday (September 20) on the junction 11A entry slip road to the M1 Northbound. The M1 was completely closed between junction 11 and junction 12 while emergency services, including three fire engines from Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue, attend to the incident.
: Traffic and travel news in Bedfordshire However, all traffic has now been released past the incident. Motorists were advised to find an alternative route and expect considerable delays but traffic in the area is now easing.
