Police and fire crews rush to A14 lorry fire

Police and Fire and Rescue crews rushed to the scene of a lorry fire on the A14 today (September 20) at 10.27am. The lorry fire on the A14 eastbound at Bar Hill caused a build up of traffic on the main carriageway as emergency services dealt with the fire. One lane was closed and a slip road was blocked while Highways England organised the recovery of the lorry.

Police say there were no injuries reported and advised people to stay away from the area as traffic built up, which has since cleared. Fire crews put the fire out using hose reels and said the lorry was empty and that the cause of the fire is believed to be accidental.
