David and Victoria Beckham stand in rain to watch son Cruz’s football game

David and Victoria Beckham are no strangers to football matches. And when the ex-footballer and former pop sensation visit stadiums they’re usually spotted in a VIP box where they rub shoulders with other famous faces and sip champagne – rather than being in the crowd with a pie and pint in hand. But this weekend, the doting parents swapped the warmth and perks of a hospitality area when they stood pitch side in the rain in South Derbyshire.

The fashion designer and athlete were snapped wrapped up in warm clothing as they huddled under an umbrella on the sports pitch at Repton School in order to support their 16-year-old son Cruz during a school football match.

David modelled a flat cap paired with a beige coat for the outing and doting mother Victoria opted to cover her brunette locks with a beanie cap and sported a khaki coat. The ex-Manchester United star also pulled out a retractable stool which he perched on for the 90-minute match. Cruz – who is one of David and Victoria’s four kids – was playing for Millfield School against Repton School, Staffordshire Live report.

The teenager seems to like living a low-key life compared to his parents.

In August, he took part in a rite of passage for many 16-year-olds after their GCSEs, by going to the Reading Festival. Cruz let loose with other festival-goers by shunning the backstage area to mosh about in the crowd. And when he grew tired of dancing around to rapper Slowthai, the budding musician hit up a Nando’s food truck.

Cruz and girlfriend Bliss Chapman also went public with their romance by walking hand-in-hand at the music event. Bliss is the daughter of nutritionist and ex-model Rosemary Ferguson. The teen keeps herself in famous company – having been one of the bridesmaids at Kate Moss’s wedding to Jamie Hince in 2011.

While it was first time Cruz and Bliss have been seen in public as a couple, they have been linked since July last year.
