HGV driver dies in A38 crash involving three Army trucks

A HGV driver has tragically died following a collision on the A38. The lorry driver has passed away following a crash involving three Army trucks. The driver, aged 53, died in hospital after suffering injuries in the collision.

The tragedy unfolded on Wednesday at 2pm. In a statement Derbyshire Constabulary, said: “The incident, which occurred on the northbound stretch of the road close to Mickleover at 1.45pm yesterday (29 September), involved three army trucks and an HGV. “The driver of the HGV, a 53-year-old man, sustained serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the Queen’s Medical Centre later that same day. “His family are aware, and our thoughts are with them at this time. “Detectives investigating the incident are appealing for any drivers with dashcam footage, in particular of the moments leading up to the incident, to get in touch.
