Motorcyclist dies after crash with pick-up truck

A motorcyclist has died following a crash in Lancaster. The rider, a man aged in his 20s from Blackpool, died in hospital today (Saturday, October 9) following the collision between a Yamaha YZF R6 motorbike and a Toyota Hi-Lux pick-up truck on the A588 Lancaster Road, Cockerham. The crash happened at around 6.20pm yesterday (October 8).

: Plans to build homes on Fleetwood school playing field thrown out Police said the motorbike rider suffered multiple serious injuries. The driver of the Toyota was not injured and nobody has been arrested.

Sgt Steve Hardman, of Lancashire Constabulary‘s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “This collision has resulted in a man losing his life and my thoughts are with his loved ones at this extremely difficult time.
