Woman airlifted to hospital after being hit by lorry in Keighley

A woman has been airlifted to hospital with serious injuries, after being hit by a lorry in Keighley. The woman was taken to Leeds General Infirmary after the crash, which happened in Aireworth Street, just off of South Street, at around 1.44pm today (October 8). A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said: “At 1.44pm today (Friday), police received a report of a collision involving a lorry and a pedestrian in Aireworth Street, Keighley.

For more news from Keighley, click here. “The pedestrian, a woman, was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries. “Road closures are in place locally and enquiries are continuing at the scene.”

Yorkshire Ambulance Service confirmed that they were called to the scene just after 1.42pm. A spokesperson said: “We received an emergency call just after 1.42pm today (Friday) to reports of a collision between an HGV and pedestrian on South Street in Keighley. “An ambulance, clinical supervisor and air ambulance were dispatched to the scene and one patient was conveyed by air to Leeds General Infirmary.”
