HGV driver reported for numerous offences after police stop

A LORRY driver was stopped by police in Builth Wells last week and reported for multiple offences. Police said they found the HGV with one tyre deflated, with the cord exposed, while the brake discs were cracked, the brakes attached to a trailer were not working and the trailer also had no test certificate. They said the vehicle was stopped near Builth in a joint operation with the Driver & Vehicle Standards Agency.

“HGV stopped just outside Builth Wells with @DVSAEnforcement; one tyre found to be under limit, one tyre cords exposed,” said the force via its Roads Policing Unit Twitter feed. “Brake discs cracked. Brakes on trailer not working.

No test on trailer. Driver reported for various offences. Combination prohibited and recovery organised.”
