She said: “It’s a fantastic way to showcase our local and rural community so people can have their own stalls. It’s just your very traditional Christmas market. “We did a winter lodge in our courtyard in 2019 but that was with no stalls and just basically extra seating.

“Now for this year we have a massive marquee and some beautiful garden rooms that will be lit with fairy lights, wi-fi, and music, so it will be really enchanting.” Santa’s grotto will be a treat for any children attending, but also The Young Ones charity, which will receive all funds raised by Santa’s grotto. The Young Ones is a charity based in Burton which provides individually designed celebration and emergency gift boxes for disadvantaged children who have nothing or very little to celebrate at Christmas and birthdays throughout the year.

Sheila Meacham, 73, treasurer at The Young Ones spoke about the impact receiving the money raised will have on the families and children. She said: “They’ve got financial problems. You know covid has brought a lot of problems with it and a lot of families were concerned they wouldn’t be able to do anything for the children at Christmas.

“Parents are struggling to put food on the table never mind go out and buy gifts, so these funds will certainly help them. “Finding out we were chosen to for this donation put a huge smile on my face, and that will then be cast onto the children.” The market will play host to many stalls offering giftware, jewellery, floristry, wax melts, artists/artwork, Christmas trees and decorations.

Various food and drink will also be available, including Bratwurst sausages, festive pulled pork cobs, burgers, pizzas, Darbey Alley mulled cider and other alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.

Freedom bar and Carlsberg truck will also be available from the sponsors of the event Freedom Brewery and Carlsberg.
