Coca-Cola truck announces next stop on tour and it’s not good for West Midlands

It looks like the West Midlands will now be missed off the Coca-Cola Christmas truck tour completely now – after another stop was announced even further down south. Fans were left disappointed last week as the iconic red truck cancelled it’s one and only West Midlands destination at the last minute. It had been due to spend the day in Wolverhampton city centre on December 8, but due to technical difficulties the event was cancelled.

Queuing fans livid after Coca-Cola truck tour visit to Wolverhampton axed at the eleventh hour Fans had been hoping that Coca-Cola would rearrange a date for the iconic truck to visit Wolverhampton, or somewhere in the West Midlands, as part of the tour. But it looks like their hopes have been dashed after the next stop of the tour was announced in Kent.

Coca-Cola has yet to address concerns that the truck is not going to visit the West Midlands at all on this tour, despite being asked by BirminghamLive. Last Thursday and Friday the truck was in Cardiff, before moving to Bristol for Saturday and Sunday – and will be at Bluewater in Kent tomorrow (December 15) and Thursday, December 16. The truck often signals the start of the Christmas holiday season for many – and people were left devastated after the tour was axed last year due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Many took to social media to vent their frustration at the lack of information on a new date for the region after Wolverhampton was cancelled.

Ellen Saeed said: “If something like this happens surely you just push the other tours one day later too and accommodate the missed tour?” Ali said: “Since it was only going to be in the Midlands for one day you could reschedule for tomorrow and have one day in Cardiff. “It’s a shame for the children that were looking forward to it as the only stop near this area.”
