Firefighters respond to possible arson in Devonport area

A video shows the dramatic moment a car caught fire in Devonport last night. Devon and Somerset Fire & Rescue Service received multiple reports of a vehicle on fire on Keyham Road around 10pm on Sunday, December 05. The fire service initially sent one crew from Camels Head Fire Station to the scene.

: Plymouth roadworks: New road closures set to start in the city this week After receiving additional calls saying the garages near to the burning vehicle had also caught fire, a second truck from Greenbank Fire Station was sent. Crews were able to extinguish the fire, but the fire had already caused damage to the surrounding area.

Car bursts into flames on Keyham Road

One vehicle was “severely damaged”, a second vehicle was “slightly damaged” and a garage door and the vehicle inside the garage were damaged by heat, said the fire service.
