Stranger’s ‘most beautiful’ gesture for boy waiting to see Coca-Cola truck

A mum was in tears over a stranger’s generosity towards her four-year-old son. Brogan O’Donnell was queuing to see the Coca-Cola truck at the Trafford Centre with son Roman Sloane when she says ‘the most beautiful thing happened’. Just moments earlier the youngster had commented on a man’s Sonic the Hedgehog hat and jumper, saying how much he liked them.

As the pair started to walk away, the man appeared and handed his hat to Roman saying ‘merry Christmas little man, it’s nice to meet another Sonic Lover’. Mum Brogan, from Swinton, Salford, said it was such a wonderful gesture and one they’ll never forget.

“Roman is a mega Sonic fan and he’s always looking for Sonic merch, especially for Christmas, so the second he saw the hat and jumper he was pointing ‘mummy look, it’s Sonic’,” she said.

“After receiving it, Roman instantly put the hat on and he was smiling from ear to ear the whole night, laughing with pure joy, I’ve never seen him so happy. “He kept asking me why the man gave it him and as the man said ‘it’s the Christmas spirit’.”

The 25-year-old said her son has ‘wore it everywhere and everyday since he got it’ on Friday when they visited the Trafford shopping centre, on the first day of the truck’s three-day stay at the venue.

The mystery donor was in his early 30s and seemed to be at the mall with his partner and child.

Brogan added: “It was just such an amazing, magical moment that we’ll both remember forever.

The Coca-Cola truck has a special meaning for us now, every time Roman sees the Coca-Cola advert now he brings up that special moment.”
