Woman mauled by her own dogs in horror attack as armed police rush to scene

A woman was attacked by her four “bulldogs” at home, leaving her in hospital with serious injuries, say police. Armed police as well as ambulances and fire crews rushed to the property in St Helens, Merseyside, on Monday morning. Merseyside Police said the woman was seriously injured when her four dogs attacked her inside her home, the Liverpool Echo reported.

The animals were initially described as bulldogs, and have been seized by police. Neighbours on the street said emergency services were on the scene for over an hour and a small dog was seen being put into an unmarked van.

One resident said: “You should have seen it before, the whole street was filled with police, ambulance and everything, it was mad.” Another person living on the same estate said there has been trouble previously and that residents “have to suffer” through it.

While another said it’s a “nice estate” and it is a surprise “when something like this goes on.” A Merseyside Police spokesperson said: “Emergency services are in attendance in Sutton today, Monday 6 December. “At around 10.15am, police were called to the Reginald Road area to a report of a woman being attacked by her four dogs, initially described as bulldogs.

“The woman sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital. The dogs have been seized by Merseyside Police. “Enquiries into the incident are ongoing.
