Hot Wheels Monster Trucks Live has fans on edge of their seats

THERE were no January Blues in sight as families descended on a sold-out arena to enjoy a thrilling spectacle of metal-crushing Monster Trucks action. Hot Wheels Monster Trucks Live Tour thundered into Liverpool’s M&S Bank Arena at the weekend and was a real treat for audience members young, old and in between. Delighted children grasped their replica toys as the larger-than-life vehicles thundered around the arena floor, controlled by highly-skilled drivers.

The driver of Demo Derby quipped: “You may have paid for a full seat, but you’re only gonna need the edge of it!” And he wasn’t wrong.

Hot Wheels Monster Trucks Live Tour

Demo Derby in action  Seven Monster Trucks — from Bigfoot to Race Ace — went up against each other in a series of epic battles, kicking off with a round of wheelies. There were some impressive donuts, when a monster truck spins in circles on one spot on the floor, which saw smoke billowing from the concrete and tyres screeching.

Some of the action-packed show is loud so younger children and those who are sensitive to noise might want to have ear defenders to hand. There was even a special appearance from the car-eating, fire-breathing transforming robot Megasaurus. There is something strangely watchable about a robot dinosaur emerging from a crate, picking up a car and demolishing it like a packet of crisps!

Megasaurus makes light work of chomping through a car  Next up were the Freestyle Motocross high-flyers who really did have me on the edge of my seat as they flew into the air, performing tricks and flips high above the stadium floor.

Freestyle Motocross team  The show’s hosts kept the high energy and fun going throughout the two-hour extravaganza. Liverpool was just one of three stop-offs on the UK leg of the tour, which also included London and Glasgow.

Keep your eyes peeled for any future dates which are sure to delight Monster Truck fans.
