Police name man killed after being hit by lorry in A1 crash

The man who died in a crash on the A1 has been named by police. Emergency services were called to the A1, near Sawtry, at around 7am on Monday morning, following reports of a serious crash (January 17). The road was closed for hours and traffic was stopped just before Junction 15 while emergency services dealt with the incident.

Cambridgeshire Police confirmed a man died in the collision. He has since been named as 29-year-old Nathan Thomas Morris, of Plodder Lane, Farnworth, Bolton. Police said Mr Morris “was struck and killed by a lorry after getting out of his Ford Fiesta, which had collided with the central reservation of the northbound carriageway.”

Police are now appealing for witnesses, dashcam footage or anyone who saw the vehicles in the moments leading up to the collision to get in touch.
