Ready-to-roll Sprinter vans for Joseph & Henry

Shoreham, UK: Intercounty Truck & Van took a breakthrough order for its refrigerated van conversions with a deal for four vehicles from Joseph & Henry. Joseph & Henry is part of butcher JC Rook & Sons. Joseph & Henry supplies trade customers. The two businesses run more than 15 vans.

The latest additions supplied on contract hire from Balgores Leasing are the first Mercedes-Benz vans in the fleet. All are 3.5 tonne medium length, high-roof, Sprinter 315 CDI variants. The insulated, single-compartment chiller conversions were undertaken by GRP which also fitted GAH Rapier fridges with single-phase electric standby.

Removing the passenger seat and spare wheel contributes to the vehicle’s one toone payload. Joseph & Henry customers include Brighton’s Grand Hotel, pictured here, which receives deliveries six days a week of raw and cooked meat.

Joseph & Henry switched to Mercedes-Benz on the advice of Balgores Leasing. “Availability was key.

We needed extra vans quickly and the pre-converted Sprinters were available from Intercounty Truck & Van at short notice.

We took three initially, and added a fourth a little while later,” Burr said.
