Driver hospitalised with serious injuries after colliding with tree
A motorist has been taken to hospital with serious injuries following a late night collision near Stockton. The crash occurred on the eastbound carriageway of the A177 carriageway between 1am and 1.10am on Friday. It is believed that a flat bed recovery truck collided with a tree.
The driver of the truck sustained serious injuries in the late night crash and was taken to Middlesbrough’s James Cook University Hospital. : Sobs in court as ‘road rage’ pair found guilty of causing death of cyclist by dangerous driving As a result of the crash, the road was closed for several hours as investigators from Durham Police worked at the scene.
The road closed was the A177 Durham Road Southbound, from the A689 Sedgefield to the Thorpe Leazes turn off (Thorpe Larches). Durham Police have launched an appeal following the collision, a spokesperson from the force said: “Officers are now keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident or with dashcam footage.
