Helicopter crash lands in Denton in home’s back garden
A helicopter has crash landed in a back garden in Denton today (Saturday). Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service were called to the scene at 1pm on May 27. Crews from Slade Park Fire Station, Rewley Road Fire Station and Kidlington Fire Station were called out. They attended along with support vehicles from across Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire.
On arrival crews were faced with a helicopter on its side in the rear garden of a domestic property. Its four passengers had managed to exit the aircraft and were in the care of South Central Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust. : Four hospitalised with serious injuries following A40 crash
Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “The quick-thinking actions of the pilot to isolate the aircraft’s fuel lines and battery supplies ensured this incident didn’t escalate further. Fire crews continued to make the scene safe so that further investigation could be carried out.” The cause of the incident is currently under investigation by the Air Accidents Investigation Branch.
It is being assisted by Thames Valley Police.
