Live as lorry transporting abnormal load on A63 gets stuck under bridge

A lorry transporting an abnormal load in Yorkshire is stuck under a bridge with huge delays for drivers stuck behind it. The lorry on the A63 out of Hull was already causing delays with drivers told to avoid some of Hull and East York’s key roads today (Sunday) as HGVs move the goods, slowing down traffic. Humberside Police are assisting with the shifting of ‘abnormal loads’.

The police force’s roads unit said they would be helping along the A63 in Hull, which is already seeing severe congestion, Hull Live reports. : Where and when to Lancaster Bomber flyover in Yorkshire The journey is then set to continue along the A1034, which leaves the A63 at South Cave continuing all the way to Market Weighton, followed by a small part of the A1079.

The journey could result in severe delays for traffic around South Cave and Market Weighton, as well as those heading between Beverley and York.

Police have told drivers to avoid these roads where possible today, in order to prevent heavy congestion.
