Traffic hell as cars stuck in nine-mile queues on M25

Motorists are being held in queues stretching for nine miles after a lorry broke down on one of Kent’s busiest motorways. Three lanes have been closed following the incident near Sevenoaks on the M25 anti-clockwise this evening.

Here’s today’s podcast code Highways bosses say the trailer on the rear of the truck became separated from the vehicle between Junction 5 at Westerham and Junction 6 at Godstone.

They believe those travelling along the route face being delayed for as long as 90 minutes. A National Highways spokesman said: “Three lanes – of four – are closed due to a lorry that has broken down.

The trailer from the lorry became separated from the cab. The vehicles have now been recovered.

“There are nine miles of congestion on the approach.”
