Livingston Police remove car by tow truck after it blocks pedestrian pavement

Livingston Police have lifted a car from a residential street on the outskirts of Edinburgh after the driver had parked their car over a pavement and could not be identified. Images shared by Road Policing Scotland show a white Honda on Hillwood Gardens parked up on the pavement blocking pedestrian access. Officers from the West Lothian town say that the parked vehicle was stopping prams or people who rely on wheelchairs from using the walkway safely.

They say that they were unable to find the owner of the car and as a result the car was uplifted with the driver liable for all costs. In a tweet shared on the Road Policing Scotland page, they said: “#LivingstonRP attended a parking complaint in Hillwood Gardens. A car was parked on the footpath preventing prams or those who rely on wheelchairs from being able safely to pass. Unable to locate the keeper so the vehicle was uplifted, the owner liable for costs.”
