Lorry fire blocking the A1 and causing slow traffic

A vehicle fire has blocked a busy road near Cambridgeshire this morning. A lorry has reportedly caught fire and is causing heavy traffic on the A1 Northbound. The incident occurred on the A1 Northbound between A1 Empingham/Pickworth Turn Off and B668 Greetham Road.

It was first reported at 6.07am this morning (Tuesday, June 7). Slow traffic has been reported in the area of Rutland in Stretton as the road is blocked. Motorists are advised to find an alternative route during this time whilst the scene is attended.
