Man caught driving ‘all over the road’ on A361 sentenced

A man has been sentenced for drink-driving on the A361 near Burford after he was spotted driving ‘significantly slower’ than the 60mph speed limit. Lee Price, aged 33, of Church Close, Islip, was disqualified from driving for a year and fined at Oxford Magistrates’ Court on June 20. He pleaded guilty to one count of driving a motor vehicle whilst over the prescribed limit of alcohol.

At around 10pm on May 22, officers became aware of a vehicle in front of them on the A361 in Fulbrook that was driving in a manner that suggested the driver may have been intoxicated. The vehicle was all over the road, travelling at a significantly slower speed for the 60mph limit and almost collided with an oncoming car. PC Cory Fastnedge, based at Witney police station, said: “Drink driving is not acceptable and Price is lucky that he was not involved in a serious or fatal collision as a result of his actions. Even the smallest amount of alcohol can influence your ability to drive safely. “It is not worth the risk.

If you know someone who drives under the influence of alcohol, please report this to police by calling 101 or if they are driving or about to drive under the influence then call 999.” The driver, Price, stopped his vehicle and failed a roadside breath test conducted by the officers and was arrested. Price was charged on May 23.
