A five-year-old boy has died after being hit by a bin lorry, police have confirmed. The child was fatally injured on a ‘dangerous’ Walsall road. Emergency services raced to the scene in West Bromwich Road on Sunday, July 17.

The road was cordoned off at the junction with The Broadway for several hours in the aftermath of the tragedy. The refuse vehicle could be seen in the middle of the residential road, parked next to the cordon. It remained there throughout the day but has since been recovered.
