Cambs car and bike lovers come together for ‘wonderful’ 10-year-old’s memorial

Today (July 22) a special memorial procession for a 10-year-old boy who was “full of life” took to the streets of Peterborough. Cars and motorbikes gathered to remember the young boy who was a was ‘fanatic’ about motor vehicles. Nathan Will-Murray from Gedney Hill, sadly passed away on June 18, 2022, he had recently turned 10 years old on Sunday, May 15.

His cause of death is currently unknown and the family are waiting on a report to find out more information. To give Nathan “the best send-off” possible a range of different motor vehicles gathered together in Peterborough before going onwards to Gedney Hill to join the procession. Motor vehicles of all types from motorbikes, to cars, trucks, campervans, Beetles, Bentleys, supercars and scooters joined the procession.

Talking about the procession Nathan’s mum, Heidi Will said: “I just want my son to have the best send-off, any little boy who is fanatic about cars and bikes could possibly have. His favourite car in the world was a VW Beetle 1972. He was an amazing, wonderful little boy that was taken far too soon”.

Heidi who is a biker herself shared the idea for Nathan’s procession with Lincolnshire bikers and on motorbike women on Facebook. From there Heidi said: “it just picked up momentum”. A group on Facebook was then created to share the news and to ask for more people to get involved in the procession, calling for “classic modified bikes & sports car owners who know people you know who are owners of anything of interest that runs on fuel”.

People across Peterborough and beyond responded by sharing the different vehicles they have to include in the procession.

Today saw people congregating in the city before beginning the journey to Gedney Hill, just over the Licolnshire border near Crowland.
