Live: Huge queues on M6 after lorry and bus crash
Motorists are being warned of long delays on the M6 this afternoon after a collision which resulted in the air ambulance being called out. Emergency services were scrambled to the southbound carriageway between junctions 16 and 15 for Stoke-on-Trent North and South. Traffic monitoring system Inrix reports that a collision, possibly involving a truck and a coach, had taken place - with a vehicle leaving the carriageway.
During the height of the incident traffic was held. That has since been reduced to two lanes being closed. However that's resulted in queues of around seven miles and a travel time of 45 minutes through the area.
We are awaiting further details from the emergency services on the collision.
We will bring you the latest in the blow below.
