Police give update after woman hit by lorry

Police have issued an update after a woman on her bike was hit by a lorry. Merseyside Police rushed to the junction of Stanley Road and Bankhall Street in Kirkdale on Tuesday, July 26 at 8.25am following reports of a crash. Once at the scene officers found the crash involved a lorry and a woman riding a bike.

Police requested the assistance of Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service and North West Ambulance Service. The woman was treated at the scene by paramedics and rushed to hospital. READ MORE:Man drives wrong way down M62 with four flat tyres

The force has now confirmed the woman is in hospital with serious injuries to both legs and is receiving treatment. The driver of the lorry stopped and is assisting police with enquiries.
